Parsons' Life Science
We are a 7th grade Life Science class at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA. As the largest independent school in the continental U.S. situated on the south side of the Metro area, we have been blessed with a diverse population of race, religion, cultures, learning abilities and interests.
We are always guided by our core values of Excellence, Character, and Opportunity.
Focused on the fundamental skills of science research, my students learn about the scientific method with weekly hands-on labs. Our students have the opportunity to work with compound microscopes and dissection microscopes in a 2 to 1 ratio. Whether reading current science articles, working on science packet pages, or discovery labs, students connect to the world around them and build a sense of shared community. BrainPop videos can give us the basic overview of topics and vocabulary; and then by the end of the chapter, we often have the opportunity view current real world applications and the mind-blowing research presented through TED talks.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." ~Aristotle
