Chapter 9: Sponges, Worms and Cnidarians
Students will define the levels of organization in animals, how they function to meet their needs, and how they are classified. We will then identify the characteristics of sponges, cnidarians, and worms. Students will have the opportunity to observe the unique regenerative properties of Planaria, a flat worm, through a dissection lab. This video link shows a clear view of the head, auricles (sensory organs), eye spots, and the pharynx (tube for feeding and to eliminate wastes).
