Chapter 20: Endocrine Glands and Reproductive Systems

In this chapter, students will be able to explain the function of the endocrine system, male and female reproductive systems and the human life cycle. We will first discuss the major endocrine glands and how hormones target body tissues to regulate organ specific functions. We will then differentiate between adolescence and puberty before identifying the structures and functions of the reproductive systems. Lastly, students will discuss the development and fertilization of an egg, hereditary information, and the growth and development throughout gestation.
